The Wood Harris Tweed Overshirt

mobile

La Surchemise Wood Harris Tweed

Origin

To make this overshirt, we were inspired by the iconic 'USMC' military shirt of the American army. But this time, we made it with a pure Shetland wool tweed, in houndstooth.

This timeless pattern was created in Scotland in 1880.

Traditionally black and white, it was used for making warm clothing. It was worn by shepherds and its colors were neutral, far from the clan battles of the time.

It was popularized by the Prince of Wales in 1934 and then became the emblem of the great couturier Christian Dior and Coco Chanel.

Style

The wool jacket can be worn over a shirt/vest but also over a denim jacket. It is a piece that can easily be combined with several other garments with different fabrics and colors because it itself is made up of beige, burgundy, blue, green...

Its houndstooth pattern gives it a natural elegance.

QualitY

This wool jacket has two bellows chest pockets, two side pockets for a “jacket style” and an inside pocket.

Inside, it is lined with quilted nylon made in Italy, which will provide perfect ease and very good comfort.

Its cut is straight and its drape is impeccable. It's a basic but its "tailor-style" construction offers exceptional finishes and details, which make the difference.
