The waistcoat is the iconic piece of our house (L'EGOÏSTE).
Thus, our designer had the idea of making a unique creation for you; a vest made on the basis of emblematic vintage clothing found all over the world.
This piece is reversible. Here we worked with shibori fabrics on one side and red bandana fabric on the other. Both sides are in patchwork made by hand and in a traditional way in our workshop.
Our One to One project will breathe new life into these historic garments. And it is our designer who will take care of making each of the vests himself.
It's our way of doing up-cycling. At a time of overconsumption and the mass-produced textile industry, we have chosen to recycle clothes that carry history to offer you a totally unique piece.
Shibori is an ancestral dyeing technique from Japan. On this fabric appear several geometric shapes that are made using various folding processes such as knots, seams. The goal is to tint the fabric with natural indigo, leaving certain areas with little or no tint (thanks to the folding of the fabric) to thus form patterns.
We have found these fabrics dating back more than 10 years, and we have made a shibori patchwork by hand and in a traditional way in our own workshop in Lisbon. Patchwork consists of assembling together several pieces of fabric from different fabrics to form a single canvas. The important thing is to combine pieces of fabric in order to find a certain balance and an aesthetic result.
It's a real work of art.
The vest is short and has a fitted cut that will perfectly fit your figure. It'ss equipped with a reversible martingale in the back that you can tighten at your convenience. The lining will be made with Italian and Japanese fabrics and will be unique to each vest.
It is a strong piece that is self-sufficient. Wear it with a white shirt, for a chic and elegant style, or with a tank top or a T-shirt for a more casual look.

These pieces will not be exactly as you see them in the photos, each will have a unique fabric, wash, color and lining.

Women's reversible vest in Italian fabrics
One side is made of two fabrics, one in seersucker (embossed effect) and the other in printed cotton. The second reversible side is an ecru red-selvedge canvas.
Its cut is quite straight, almost "oversize" for a more relaxed look.

Women's navy suit vest, 100% natural indigo cotton. The appearance of this fabric was obtained thanks to a particular technique which consists of "crumpling" the fabric before heating it, which will make it possible to obtain this "crumpled" effect.
The back is in Italian linen with floral motifs.
